A letter to your younger brother telling him about the bad effects of smoking

Dear Y,

It is a long time since I heard from you. It seems you cannot find the time to send me letters. It will be a pleasure for me if you could write me from time to time.
Recently I was shocked about the news I got about you. It was when I learnt that you have become a chain smoker. You are a fairly sensible lad. So I think that you should have realized the harmful effects of smoking. It damages the lungs day by day and decreases longevity. It causes many fatal diseases like cancer, heart attack, bronchitis, etc. It also harms the nerves, damages the brain and in extreme cases lead to drug addiction.
So, please do not do any injustice to yourself. I will be very glad if you give up this bad habit without any further delay.

No more today; and please give up smoking from the moment you receive this letter.

 Yours ever

Formal Complaint Regarding Bullying

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Bullying

Dear Madam,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding bullying in the school compound. As a parent of a student of Class X at [Your School Name], I believe it is important to address this matter for the benefit of their class in particular and school in general.

Our children have had first hand experience of instances of bullying by a section of students. They misbehave with junior students and force them to bring money or else get roughed up. Some students who faced this are afraid of telling their parents in fear of getting beaten up and comply with the bullies’ demands. Some students have resorted to stealing money to pay to the bullies. The bullies even force the students to smoke or face punishment.

I earnestly request that you take appropriate steps to address this issue and ensure a positive learning environment for all students in the school. Effective resolution of this matter is crucial to maintaining the quality of education and fostering a peaceful academic atmosphere.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will handle this complaint with sensitivity and compassion.

Yours sincerely,

Writing a complaint letter to a newspaper about the excessive charges for admission into schools

To

The Editor,

.............,

Dhaka.

Subject: Schools Charging Excess Admission Fees

 Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities, especially the Ministry of Education, to a pressing issue faced by many parents in our area. Several private schools here are charging admission fees far beyond the limits fixed by the government.

Despite clear guidelines issued by the Education Ministry regarding fee structures, many schools continue to demand large sums under various heads such as 'development fees,' 'building funds,' or 'miscellaneous charges.' This practice places an unfair financial burden on parents and deprives deserving students of the opportunity to receive quality education.

We, the aggrieved parents, have repeatedly approached the school administrations, but our pleas have gone unheard. It is disheartening to see that such exploitation continues unchecked. We therefore request the Ministry of Education to investigate the matter urgently and take strict action against schools violating government regulations.

We also urge your respected newspaper to highlight this issue widely so that the concerned authorities are compelled to take immediate corrective measures.

Thank you for your attention to this important public concern.

Yours faithfully,

...............

(An aggrieved parent)
